Since human beings developed the curiosity for other creatures their abilities to capture and use them improved too. With the beginning of the agriculture and livestock the animals started to breed under human will, leaving their instincts and wild life aside forced by the man's hand. People don't mind how much an animal has suffered, working till the horrible death by tiredness or being caged as a rare property or "pet".
I'd like to show you my point of view about the zoos and pet shops, just saying that both activities are a way of making money at the expense of animals. Usually people say "Oh this little dog is so cute!" or something like "I want this dog because I like this breed". Skin-deep people often say that they prefer one breed or another and I'm conscious about the fact that there are many animals in refuges that are sacrificed, and the "survivors" are waiting for a person to take care of them and give them all the love that they need.
And what to say about dogs like French Bulldog or Chihuahua, animals that have evolved into anthropogenic creatures that have lost a regular and healthy body by the selection of the smallest dogs or the most flattened faces, these two are an example of this fact.
Maybe you're thinking that I hate animals or something else, but actually I've seen very awful things that people do unintentionally or intentionally, and there isn't an adequate control of pet shops, the pets that people buy, the people that earn money breeding dogs, cats and everything that could give birth to new living beings... There are many examples of how people make use of animals and they don't receive at least an appropriate treatment.
It's too hard to watch a dog in a cage without the opportunity of talking about the cares that it likes to receive from its master, caged without getting out and running, playing or breathing fresh air, not just the smell of the cage where it has to pee, poop and eat.
Zoos are part of this, although they take care of endangered species, only a gear that spins before people`s eyes making those pictures of caged animals make little sense... But it doesn't make any sense. Animals deserve freedom and we're refusing them that right.
They don't like it, and you wouldn't like it. Protect the animals and their rights.
